Why this space exists
This site began with grief that had nowhere to go. Over the years, Ayaz watched people he loved — good, strong, laughing people — carry unbearable weights in complete silence. Friends who organised everyone else's happiness and never once said they were drowning. Friends who answered "I'm fine" so convincingly that everyone believed them, until believing them became the thing we all regret. Some made it through. Some carry the scars still. And the lesson of all of it was brutally simple: the suffering was never the whole tragedy — the silence was.
Ayaz Speaks is his answer to that silence. A dream, honestly — that somewhere, someone about to swallow their pain for the hundredth time finds words here in their own language instead. That a friend spots a sign here and makes one phone call in time. On one side of this house we write about mental health — plainly, in Hindi and in English — because the language of feelings should belong to everyone, not only to those who learned it in English-medium schools or therapists' offices. It begins with the guide that matters most: When Someone You Love Is Suffering in Silence.
And on the other side of the house — the food. Because in our homes, the table was always where love actually got spoken. A plate refilled before you asked. A favourite dish appearing on a hard day, no questions asked. Food is how this country has always healed, gossiped, forgiven and gathered — so here, the two rooms share one roof.
The suffering was never the whole tragedy. The silence was. This site exists to break it.
If you have ever felt too much and said too little; if a certain smell from a kitchen can still bring your whole childhood back; if you believe that being well and eating well are somehow the same conversation — then you are already home here. Pull up a chair. Pour the chai. Let's talk. Really talk.
